National Conference on Graduate Employment and Entrepreneurship
The V2WORK project organized a National Conference on Graduate Employment and Entrepreneurship at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) in Ho Chi Minh City on October 30th and 31st, 2019. It brought together over 100 participants including students, university professors and managers, as well as employers and successful entrepreneurs from the Ho Chi Minh City area and beyond.
The objective of the National Conference was to stimulate dialogue and debate at the national level with regards to the current environments of employment and entrepreneurship in Vietnam for students and graduates. The Conference proved to be an effective communication channel where employers of various backgrounds shared their needs and requirements. These insights will help the Career Centre staff and HEI managers to successfully modernize their careers services, as well as a gain in knowledge in terms of identifying the market needs. The links formed during the two-day conference will contribute to narrowing the gaps between the labor market and the HEI training programs.
The National Conference was also host to the V2WORK Enterprising Ideas Competition – Be Green!, a national enterprising ideas competition which brought together aspiring young entrepreneurs from 11 Vietnamese universities. Their creative ideas were checked and evaluated by a skilled board of judges, and they had an opportunity to interact with the general public through a poster session, to exchanges views on their business ideas.
