2nd SEASIN Network Event
Universities are an essential agent for positive social changes in current societies. This has been evidenced in the 2nd Southeast Asian Social Innovation Network Event which, held in Bangkok (Thailand) on October 8th and 9th. During this event, and SEASIN under the moto of “Shaping Futures. New ways for Universities to make change happen", different Professors, researchers and managers from more than a dozen university centers have shared regional good practices that result in the increase of well-being in their territories.
The University of Alicante is a partner with two other European universities, the Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) and the University of Aveiro, of the Southeast Asian Social Innovation Network (SEASIN) project. In this meeting, Pablo de Gracia and Raúl Ruiz Callado, from the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences, participated with the invited paper “Times for social innovation in university education and the design of public policies: applied sociology in the southeast region of Spain". This paper focuses in several projects in which they have worked with different public administrations, as well as the objectives, contents and results already achieved in Master's Degree in Social Innovation and Dynamics of Change, a new master program offered by the University of Alicante.
