The 1st Training Workshop “Introduction to Sustainable Tourism” of the TOURIST Project has been taking place from 2nd to 5th October, hosted by Hue University in Hue City, Vietnam. The training workshop is being delivered by the European Partners (FH JOANNEUM Gesellschaft mbH, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences and the University of Alicante) and is being attended by representative from three Vietnamese Universities, four Thai Universities and The Thailand Community Based Tourism Institute.

The objective of the workshop is to create a common understanding of tourism development and growth, the impacts of tourism, sustainable tourism, identify the stakeholders in sustainable tourism and define the role of individuals and organisations in making tourism more sustainable.

The University of Alicante was represented by Dr. Oana M. Driha, Assisst. Professor, Department of Applied Economics International Economy, Institute of Tourism Research, who delivered the training on stakeholders in sustainable tourism.
