3rd Training Workshop “Technology Transfer: Key Agreements and Role of HEIs".

Last week, from 27th February to 1st March, the 3rd Training Workshop Technology Transfer: Key Agreements and Role of HEIs” of the FREE Network Project“ was hosted by the Universidad Galileo and Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala in Guatemala City and Antigua, Guatemala.

The training workshop has been delivered by the European Partners (Glasgow Caledonian University, Università degli studi di Genova and the University of Alicante, coordinator of the FREE Network Project) and was attended by more than 60 people, representatives from the partners’ Higher Education Institutions from Central America.

The objective of the workshop was to identify the key issues regarding the creation of spin-off from the technology transfer perspective, including the different agreements to be developed and defining the role of each institution. Participants in the training workshop will be involved in the establishment of Innovation Support Offices in their institutions and will adapt the training content to local context and deliver pilot workshops for students and researchers.

The training workshop was combined with the “1st Workshop of Technology Transfer Offices and Spin-offs in Guatemala” and a “Working Session on the Creation of Innovation Support Offices (ISOs) and a ISOs Network in Central America” that took place on 26th February hosted by Universidad Galileo.

Following the workshop, the project partners held a coordination meeting to review project progress and plan the project activities to be undertaken in the upcoming months.

The next workshop will take place in El Salvador in May 2018 and will be hosted by Universidad de El Salvador.
