This week Daniel Tejerina, UA researcher, participated in the Final Board Meeting for the approval of the Project Work presented by 5 students enrolled in CUDIMHA Master at the University of Molise. The commission partially online and partially on campus was composed of lecturers from the various partner universities.

The Master’s Programme in “Communication and valorisation of the Mediterranean cultural heritage” developed within the project was launched online on November, 9^th 2020. Due to pandemic outbreak the classes of the 1^st semester took place online and once the situation allowed students were able to gather in presence and follow the teaching via online platform.

On September 28^th the training course “Digital financial literacy for seniors” developed in the framework of the DEFINE project "Digitalized Financial Education for Seniors - Interactive Scenario Gaming Solutions for Increasing Online Financial Literacy of Seniors - DEFINE" was inaugurated by Ms Marian Alesón, Head of the Permanent University of the University of Alicante and Ms Noelia Lopez, Senior Project Manager of UA Institutional Project Management Office.

On 7^th September a train-the-trainer event took place at the University of Alicante organised by the Institutional Project Management Office (OGPI), in the framework of the Erasmus+ project "Digitalized Financial Education for Seniors - Interactive Scenario Gaming Solutions for Increasing Online Financial Literacy of Seniors - DEFINE". During the meeting, the DEFINE project, partnership, aims, target groups and expected results were presented by Prof. Joaquín Marhuenda, DEFINE Project Researcher. Following the presentation of the project, Ms Noelia Lopez, OGPI Senior Project Manager, presented the DEFINE training course “Digital financial literacy for seniors” developed in the framework of the project.

DEFINE partners met on 1^st December for a project coordination meeting bringing together representatives from the seven partner institutions from Austria, Denmark, Spain, Italy and France. The objective of the meeting was presenting the training materials, virtual games and videos on digital financial literacy specially tailored for seniors developed by project partners and discuss the next steps for a successful project implementation.

Víctor F. Climent, UA Employment Center Technician and Associated Professor of the University of Alicante -Department of Sociology, together with representatives from OGPI-UA, participated on 26^th November 2020, in the INSPIRE Online Final Conference, which was hosted online by Parahyangan Catholic University from Bandung (Indonesia). Víctor F. Climent delivered a summary presentation on the Best Practices examples from EU partners on social entrepreneurship support within the context of Higher Education, which has contributed to enrich Indonesian exposure to this topic and study adaptation to their own context.

The virtual event was attended by all INSPIRE consortium members from Austria, Poland and  Indonesia with an outstanding turnout of more 250 participants from all relevant stakeholders groups: students, higher education management, private sector and international agencies, including  Vincent Piket, EU Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. During the conference, partners dialogued on the concepts on social entrepreneurship and its applications to Indonesia as well as reviewing the main outputs of the INSPIRE project. The conference was adorned with inspiring audio-visual material from students involved in project activities and traditional performances from Indonesia which helped to reinforce project ownership and appropriation of the results. This final conference represent a crucial milestone for the INSPIRE project, pushing towards sustainable promotion of the interplay of business-university policy within the field of social entrepreneurship in Indonesia.

The OPEN project held its 1st training of trainers module which due to the COVID-19 emergency was organised on-line from November 9th to 12th, 2020 for the staff from 5 Universities International Relations Offices and Ministry of Education and Sports in Lao PDR. The training was jointly delivered by the University of Alicante and the University of Bologna.

This workshop was centered on the following topics:

• Globalisation vs. Internationalisation
• Introduction to Fundraising and Project Management
• Information and communications technologies for IROs.

ACCESS partners met on 17^th November 2020 for the third project coordination meeting, bringing together representatives of higher education institutions from Costa Rica, Cuba and Dominican Republic, the Ministries of Higher Education of these Latin American countries, the University of Macedonia and the University of Alicante, the project coordinator. The objective of the meeting was to present the current status of the project and a specific action plan for the next 12-months including mitigation actions in light of the current pandemic. Project partners approved the updated workplan that transformed some of the project activities into remote activities, without losing their expected impact and guaranteeing a successful transition to online actions in the short term.

The V2WORK project, coordinated by the University of Alicante, has created a new network to further develop the close cooperation between V2WORK project partners, and to extend its positive impact to other Vietnamese Higher Education Institutions (HEIs): the Vietnam Employability and Entrepreneurship Support Network or VEES-Net.

VEES - NET has a vision to be a sustainable network of Vietnamese HEIs to support career services with a view to promoting greater employability and developing a spirit and culture of entrepreneurship among HEIs. Its mission is to increase the employability and the entrepreneurship efforts of HEI students and graduates, enabling higher levels of success and professional achievement, and to promote the development and affirmation of HEI career services as an essential structure and of the greatest importance in fulfilling the institution's mission to train and qualify young people for qualified professional activities that generate social and economic development.

In the framework of the Erasmus+ project MATE – An Innovative, Student-Centered Approach to Intercultural Skills Acquisition for Students and Young Migrants, coordinated by M.M.C. Mediterranean Management Centre (Cyprus), the University of Alicante implemented 5 “Report Racism” Workshops. 

The aim of the workshops was to help students comprehend how dominant discourses – often carrying bias, stereotypes, and ill perceptions – are formed and reproduced. The main topic of the workshops – Hate Speech – was divided in five subtopics, comprising the five modules of the curriculum and corresponding to important aspects of the “Hate Speech phenomenon”, as discussed and decided by the MATE partnership.

The CUDIMHA Second Steering Committee Meeting, originally scheduled in Alicante, took place on October 28th 2020 at the Webex platform because of COVID-19 restrictions. The meeting aimed to verify all the activities that have been developed so far. All participants and WP leaders updated the consortium on the tasks they are coordinating. The Steering Committee worked as well on final decisions to be taken in order to get started with the first semester of the Master (opening online on November the 9th, 2020). During the meeting FORMIT presented e-formar, an on-line learning platform that will be used for Master implementation on a distance.
