On Thursday March 24th the University of Alicante (Sede Ramón y Cajal) hosted the Round Table “Addressing the challenges of digital banking: financial and digital literacy for today” in the framework of the DEFINE project. Organised by the Institutional Project Management Office (OGPI) and the Permanent University of the University of Alicante (UPUA), the Round Table aimed at presenting the DEFINE project and its main results as well as discussing key topics such as the challenges faced by seniors due to the digitisation of banking services and the training needed to provide seniors with digital and financial skills.

On the 3rd of March 2022, the DEFINE Final Conference took place on-line to discuss “Financial Literacy in today’s Digital era”. Adult education providers, seniors’ associations, educational departments at local, regional and national level and other interested public where invited to join and participate. The DEFINE conference organised by FH Joanneum, project coordinator, with the collaboration from all project partners, aimed to demonstrate how seniors can be trained in the field of digitalized financial education, increasing awareness about the DEFINE project results as well as about the importance of being financially literate in today´s digital area.

On September 28th the training course “Digital financial literacy for seniors” developed in the framework of the DEFINE project "Digitalized Financial Education for Seniors - Interactive Scenario Gaming Solutions for Increasing Online Financial Literacy of Seniors - DEFINE" was inaugurated by Ms Marian Alesón, Head of the Permanent University of the University of Alicante and Ms Noelia Lopez, Senior Project Manager of UA Institutional Project Management Office.

On 7th September a train-the-trainer event took place at the University of Alicante organised by the Institutional Project Management Office (OGPI), in the framework of the Erasmus+ project "Digitalized Financial Education for Seniors - Interactive Scenario Gaming Solutions for Increasing Online Financial Literacy of Seniors - DEFINE". During the meeting, the DEFINE project, partnership, aims, target groups and expected results were presented by Prof. Joaquín Marhuenda, DEFINE Project Researcher. Following the presentation of the project, Ms Noelia Lopez, OGPI Senior Project Manager, presented the DEFINE training course “Digital financial literacy for seniors” developed in the framework of the project.

DEFINE partners met on 1st December for a project coordination meeting bringing together representatives from the seven partner institutions from Austria, Denmark, Spain, Italy and France. The objective of the meeting was presenting the training materials, virtual games and videos on digital financial literacy specially tailored for seniors developed by project partners and discuss the next steps for a successful project implementation.

From 14th to 15th of January 2020, OGPI Senior Project Manager, Noelia López, participated in the DEFINE project Kick-off meeting that took place in Paris. During the two-day meeting, representatives from the 7 partner institutions from Austria, Denmark, Spain, Italy and France were gathered to decide the content of the DEFINE training about online banking and finances, specially tailored for seniors. OGPI representative made a presentation on the quality plan for the project, the desk research and the focus group conducted, in which attendees shared their views on existing trainings and best practices on digitalized financial education, the needs of seniors in the area of financial education and digital skills and gaps between existing trainings and training needs

On 13th December, a Focus Group took place at the University of Alicante organised by the International Project Management Office (OGPI), in the framework of the Erasmus+ project "Digitalized Financial Education for Seniors - Interactive Scenario Gaming Solutions for Increasing Online Financial Literacy of Seniors - DEFINE". During the meeting, the DEFINE project, partnership, aims, target groups and expected results were presented by the academic director of Institutional Projects, Dr. Joaquín Marhuenda. Following the presentation of the project, the Focus Group was conducted to discuss the existing trainings and best practices on digitalized financial education, to identify the needs of seniors in the area of financial education and digital skills and find out more about the gaps between existing trainings and training needs.
