The SEASIN project directly responds to the societal challenges of South East Asian society by harnessing the knowledge of Universities to directly contribute, not only to increasing socioeconomic growth but also to improve social cohesion and equity, through social innovation. The SEASIN project proposes the creation of specific units established within universities to support knowledge transfer for social innovation, offering a range of services: shared incubation facilities for social innovators; both informal training and curricular based courses for a wide range of stakeholders to understand the mechanisms for social innovation; technical support and academic rigour to ensure that social innovations have impact and scalability; promote social innovation across the sector so that it is built as an integral part of the universities’ core activity.
