InnoLabs “Entrepreneurship and Innovation Labs to foster STEM innovative projects in Ecuador and Cuba”, is a Strand 2 CBHE project that aims to develop STEM students' innovation competences and entrepreneurial skills to contribute to socio-economic development in Ecuador and Cuba.
Our project aims to embed innovation and entrepreneurship into HE in Ecuador and Cuba, merging practical skills with academic theory to connect education with real-world needs. Led by a consortium of educational, governmental, and industry partners from Ecuador, Cuba, Spain, and Belgium, it enhances learning, promotes resource sharing, and aligns education with market demands, fostering a collaborative research and innovation ecosystem in the Partner Countries.
InnoLabs engages a wide array of stakeholders, including STEM students and entrepreneurs, higher education faculty and staff, industry experts and policymakers.
InnoLabs specific objectives are:
To establish Entrepreneurship and Innovation Labs (EILs) as a meeting point for
academics, researchers, STEM students, entrepreneurs and industry, fostering mutual learning and the generation of innovative multidisciplinary projects.
To devise an entrepreneurial itinerary for STEM students, including interactive workshops, tools for maturing and accelerating business ideas, mentoring and prototyping equipment for idea validation, increasing the employability of graduates.
We aim to drive innovation with advanced EILs as incubators for student ventures and hands-on learning, boosting critical thinking in STEM students and faculty. Industry collaboration provides practical insights, turning projects into market-ready products. InnoLabs seeks to create a dynamic, sustainable HE ecosystem, enhancing creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, thus supporting the socioeconomic growth of the two regions involved.
