The overall objective of the project is to bring innovative thinking into the region's Higher Education and to enhance universities' ability for encouraging and conducting collaboration with their economic environments, motivating regional actors, and enhancing the culture of innovation and spread of best practices for better economic development. In this context the project will promote the convergence with the developments within the European Higher education and rel. policies, most notably, by addressing the objectives of the Bologna and Lisbon processes, where ensuring stronger relevance of universities in context of their economic environments and enhancing universities' contribution to the national and regional economic and innovation performance are among the most topical issues. The development of partnerships between universities and enterprises in the partner countries Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia is also among the regional Tempus priorities for Joint Projects in the Southern Neighboring Area.
