REACH Kick-off Meeting at the University of Ljubjlana
On January 23rd & 24th, 2020, the Erasmus+ project REACH "Reinforcing Access to Cross Border Employment at Palestinian Higher Education Institutions" held its Kick-off Meeting at the University of Ljubjlana in Slovenia. REACH aims to enhance the capacity of Palestinian HEIs in promoting cross border employability of graduates, providing them with the capabilities for effective cross border working so that they can develop their potential and also participate actively in sustainable economic development in Palestine. Specifically the project wishes to:
- Enhance the competence and performance of career centres / alumni Units at PHEIs in creating and promoting cross border work employment.
- Strengthen graduates' skills and know-how required for obtaining cross border employment in six fields: Foreign language teaching (FLT), translation, web design, mechanical design, robots and machines programming and graphic design.
- Reinforce PHEIs links with local and international labour markets focusing on cross border work.
The University of Alicante, as partner in this project, has a strong role in the Needs Assessment and Benchmarking studies of the project, and will contribute to training of trainers modules. The REACH project is coordinated by the Islamic University of Gaza, and will run from November 2019 to November 2022.
