On Thursday March 24th the University of Alicante (Sede Ramón y Cajal) hosted the Round Table “Addressing the challenges of digital banking: financial and digital literacy for today” in the framework of the DEFINE project. Organised by the Institutional Project Management Office (OGPI) and the Permanent University of the University of Alicante (UPUA), the Round Table aimed at presenting the DEFINE project and its main results as well as discussing key topics such as the challenges faced by seniors due to the digitisation of banking services and the training needed to provide seniors with digital and financial skills.

The DEFINE project was presented by Ms Noelia Lopez, OGPI Senior Project Manager who also moderated the Round Table. Key contributions on financial education and digitisation were made by the panellist: José Miguel Lorente Ayala, Director of Institutions, Valencian Community and Murcia Territorial Directorate, Santander Bank, Felipe Castejón and Miguel Ángel Plaza, trainers at Club EuCoNet and Antonio López, UPUA Responsible for digital training.

The Round Table was attended by 11 seniors and, due to the interesting topics addressed, a dynamic debate was conducted among panelists and the attendees.
