On 4th November the on-line course,  “Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Big Data in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability and Circular Economy” organised by the Institutional Project Management Office (OGPI), in the framework of the CloudEARHTi project was inaugurated at the Alicante Science Park. This course aims to inspire students to develop a business idea giving them the opportunity to connect with like-minded, inspiring and self-motivated students from across Europe.

More that 25 students from the University of Alicante attended the 1st module on “Entrepreneurship and Start-up Ecosystem”. During the session, the local Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and resources available were presented by Loren Moreno Monteagudo, UA Technology Transfer Office Entrepreneurial Project Manager, an Entrepreneurial Motivation Workshop was conducted by Víctor Climent, UA General Foundation Deputy, followed by a presentation on Social Entrepreneurship. Moreover, the Alicante Science Park was presented by Mar Cervera, Business Development Project Manager. Finally, Yago Sierras, founder of the start-up “Mediterranean Algae” explained how to launch a company from the very beginning.

The central vision of ClouldEARHI: Innovation Capacity Building for the Use of Big Data in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability and Circular Economy, funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), is to develop and build capacity for innovation across Higher Education Institutions, students and businesses in the area of big data, environmental science, sustainability and circular economy, which will ultimately benefit society. The CloudEARTH project includes a consortium of five universities (UiT Arctic University of Norway, The University of Edinburgh, University of Applied Sciences Burgenland, the University of Alicante, Technical University of Vana and G-Force, a business partner.
