The China Intellectual Property Management Network (CIPnet) Final Conference was virtually hosted on 24-25 June 2021 by the Intellectual Property School of East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL), China. Presentations were delivered both by the CIPnet project partners and invited guests and structured into the following panel sessions:

The 24th June, the Final Conference included presentations on: the China Intellectual Property Management Network aims and achievements, structure and activities, and was followed by the conference “Managing IP at Universities. These were followed by presentations on the WIPO Project and Activities in the Field of IP Management, IP KEY and EUCIPAN project’ activities and the China IP SME Helpdesk initiative, and some training on “What Makes It Easier to Obtain a Patent? Professional Quality of Patent Agent”, “Technology Cooperation under the EU-China Comprehensive Agreement on Investment”, and the “The Challenge of Patent Law: From Patent Sharing to Technology Sharing”.

The 25th of June, the Conference had one presentation from the WIPO’s Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) Program, and 2 OGPI presentations carried out by Ms Léa Montesse and Mr Robert Pocklington. The event finished with presentations on “Patent Ownership Risks in Technology Transfer in Universities”, “Innovation of Intellectual Property Management Mode in Universities under the Background of Promotion of Transformation of Scientific and Technological Achievements“, “Problems and Experience of Intellectual Property Transfer in Universities“, and “Some Opinions on Forced Technology Transfer”.

The University of Alicante was represented by 2 OGPI members during the module four: “Facilitating Technology Transfer and IP Management Process. Focus on China”:

  • Ms Léa Montesse, IP expert, with the presentation “Taking Part in Collaborative Research Projects with European Partners – Good Practices in Terms of IP Management”
  • Mr Robert Pocklington, IP expert that presented the “Technology Transfer at Chinese Universities: Further Ways of Training the Trainers, and Finding the Perfect TTO Manager”.
