Participants in the FREE Network training workshop.

Last week, from 14th to 16th November, the 1st Training Workshop, "Knowledge Transfer, Technology Identification, Business Models & Business Planning", of the FREE Network Project was hosted by the Universidad Americana in Managua, Nicaragua.

The training workshop has been delivered by the European Partners (Glasgow Caledonian University, Università degli studi di Genova and the University of Alicante /coordinator of the FREE Network Project) and was attended by more than 35 people, representatives from the partners’ Higher Education Institutions from Central America.

The objective of the workshop was to provide a general vision of the process of identification and development of spin-off projects (from a business model perspective) as well as offer different tools and mechanisms to assist innovative entrepreneurs when defining their projects. Participants in the training workshop will be involved in the establishment of Innovation Support Offices in their institutions and will adapt the training content to local context and deliver pilot workshops for students and researchers. The next workshop will take in Guatemala in February 2018 and will be hosted by Universidad Galileo and Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala
